CHALKBOARD ART||Bun in the Oven

This was on the invitation for a baby shower one of my friends threw for me and Baby N!

I copied the idea and created this chalkboard art.

Then thanks to an awesome tutorial, found HERE and a free chalkboard digi graphic found HERE by Hannah at We Lived Happily Ever After I turned it into a chalkboard printable.

These are some other boards I've done for weddings.
I'm up for hire!

CHALKBOARD ART||printables

A couple of weeks ago I was searching for a quote that I felt fit me and fit my home to write on the back of an old art piece.  It'd been sitting above my mantle as a blank canvas for months waiting for just the right inspiration.  I was going to cover it with burlap and then spray paint stenciled letters, but since I'm prego I didn't want to use spray paint. I started searching pinterest and found this!!!

I fell in love with it!
But I decided to add my own twist to it and use the word Charity instead of the word Love.
It has so much more depth to me.

Charity: The highest, noblest, strongest kind of love, not merely affection; the pure love of Christ. It is never used to denote alms or deeds of benevolence, although it may be a prompting motive

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Charity suffereth long,
and is kind
charity envieth not;
charity vaunteth not itself,
is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly
seeketh not her own,
is not easily provoked
thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity
but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things,
believeth all things,
hopeth all things,
endureth all things.
Charity never faileth:

Moroni 7:46-48

(this is where the greater depth comes in...)

46 Wherefore, my beloved brethren,
if ye have not charity,
ye are nothing, for charity never faileth.
Wherefore, cleave unto charity,
which is the greatest of all,
for all things must fail—
47 But charity is the pure love of Christ
and it endureth forever;
and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day,
it shall be well with him.

So how do we get this Charity???

48 Wherefore, my beloved brethren,
pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart
that ye may be filled with this love,
which he hath bestowed
upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ;
that ye may become the sons of God;
that when he shall appear we shall be like him,
for we shall see him as he is;
that we may have this hope;
that we may be purified even as he is pure.
Amen.

This is what I did!

Two Things

1 - I obviously have not met my New Years Resolution of posting an image weekly.  I could rattle off my excuses...but really we all know this sort of thing happens.  I did however kick butt in the accounting class I took, hello Mr. 4.0!!! (even if it was just one class).  My dad used to pay me $100 bucks for a quarter of straight A's in middle school.  I did it once.

and

2 - I married into one of the most amazing families!  Yesterday was daughter #2's wedding.  It was a totally elegant, gorgeous, fun, DIY wedding.  We all know that DIY weddings are better and easier with the help of experts, so maybe saying DIY is a bit of a fib.  Daughter #3 works for Legacy Wedding & Events. They can turn a cultural hall reception into a work of art!  Needless to say, everything was perfect down to the very details!  Here are a couple of shots I snapped!

michelleANDERSEN||new years resolution #1

Mr. N has been playing the guitar tonight!
It's been fun to hear him play again.
I feel so blessed!!!
This is my first attempt at starting to post
{at least} a weekly image
of something I love about life
RIGHT NOW!
In my heart of hearts I've always struggled at that!
Maybe that's why I love scrapbooking my past
and
 planning my future...

A GOAL IS ONLY A WISH UNLESS YOU WRITE IT DOWN.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Capri Birth Story, a set on Flickr.

I was lucky enough to photograph the miraculous birth of Capri! She's beautiful and so sweet! I can't imagine photographing anything more beautiful than a birth story. We thought little Capri would show up sometime around 2 p.m. Three hours later she arrived! It worked out perfectly for all of the detail shots. Delivery is an amazing process. It's truly a miracle.

PORTRAIT||sarah ida

Sarah Ida 1

Sarah was the official winner of my photo shoot contest from March 2010. We were church buddies when I returned to Utah State University to finish my degree in 2005. She was telling me that she felt guilty winning the contest because of our friendship, but I'm so glad she won! It was so much fun to catch up with her before she moved to Montana for her job! Sarah was so much fun to photograph and what can I say I love shooting on Pierpont Avenue! Such a great location with so many background options!

Dunh! Dunh! Dunh! I introduce to you the very energetic, and enjoyable Preisler family!!! I served in the New York City South Mission with Melinda. Back then she was known as Sister O. ---and was most definitely the the most desired english trainer/possibly companion on the mish. I was lucky enough to live in the same pad as her. Oh! The memories of Flushing, NY. It was fun to meet up again and get to know her beautiful, and when I say beautiful, I mean BEAUTIFUL family! I had so much fun chasing her kids around to get them to actually look at the camera. Who knew the Ogden train depot could be so cool! Thanks for a fun afternoon!

photo shoot contest WINNER!!!

...and the winner is...

...drum roll please!!!

PORTRAIT||the WASHINGTON family

This was my 4th and FINAL shoot during my "San Jose" weekend. I have friends that have had their pictures taken at this park, but I had no idea that it would be a photographer's dream. So many different backdrops and endless opportunities.

The Washington's were so easy to work with
and came to the shoot full of ideas they wanted to try! Until now, I had no idea that 3 year olds even knew what college was...this little one is already talking about how she's going to college! Love it.
Thanks for finishing off my photo weekend in the Bay with a BANG!
Let me know what you think!
